Yes. In early August 2026 Oleksandr Kostyliev officially returned to Counter-Strike, and did it in the most cinematic way possible: his new BC.Game roster won the first tournament it played. For a player who had been away from the active scene for a long stretch, that's about as good as a restart gets.
What roster is s1mple playing with
The lineup came together piece by piece over the summer. Two players left in June and the slots were filled gradually: in early July Magisk took over as captain, and by mid-month mzinho was announced as the fifth player, completing the roster. So by August the team arrived as a settled five rather than a pile of free agents.
BC.Game's climb up the world ranking
The trophy isn't the most telling part — the speed of the climb is. In the week after the return BC.Game rose 172 places in the VRS ranking and settled inside the world top 51, passing WW Team along the way. For a roster that effectively started from scratch, that's a very fast entry.
What the new team is aiming for
The goal was stated back in July, before the first trophy: mzinho named it outright — to reach a major final with s1mple. For a team that had only just formed that sounds bold, but the rate of climb has been backing the boldness up so far.
What has already gone wrong
Not everything is smooth: BC.Game stumbled in Esports World Cup 2026 qualifying, losing to 100 Thieves, and it was the Americans who advanced to the main stage. The first serious test over distance showed that one famous name isn't enough and the chemistry still has to be built in real matches.
