Pro CS2 players don't only practice on officials — most of the routine runs on the same modes anyone can play: deathmatch, movement maps, duels. And this isn't a guess: so many pros and streamers have shown up on CYBERSHOKE servers that the leaderboards make it clear who grinds where. We pulled the real examples — and where you can train the same way.
Every mode below is gathered on the CYBERSHOKE CS2 modes page, so it's easy to hop onto any of them.
How pros train movement in CS2
Movement is what separates the top players: jump timing, strafes, speed control. They sharpen it on the movement modes — KZ, BHOP and SURF. Per CYBERSHOKE leaderboards, the top of KZ by time played is stacked with pros: flouzer (2,193 minutes), w0nderful, cmtry, BELCHONOKK and kl1m.

It's also telling which players run KZ the most: by number of map completions, the leaders are qw1nk1, xiELO, zweih, r1nkle and donk. And one map movement gets trained on especially often is kz_variety_fix — short, but packed with tight turn chains.

If you want to start with movement, jump onto the CYBERSHOKE KZ servers or bhop/surf: the map pool is huge, with easy routes to start and hard ones for timing.
Where pros warm up their aim before matches
The classic warm-up before a match is deathmatch: fast entries into fights, lots of frags, hands warmed up. On the CYBERSHOKE DM servers the leaderboard is full of familiar names — buster_, Ryujin, m1N1, AquaRS — and on pistol DM EliGE sits high. The numbers at the top are serious: the overall DM leaderboard has entries with 23,000 frags and a K/D above 2.0.

For more focused aim work there are dedicated servers too — like AWP and aim modes. The idea is the same as the pros': a few minutes warming up reactions and crosshair before competitive rounds.
Duels and situations: DUELS and RETAKE
Beyond aim and movement, pros drill 1v1s and rounds. On DUELS, names like REDSTAR and SPELLAN have shown up near the top. Duels train the pure one-on-one gunfight with nothing else in the way.
And to train rounds rather than raw aim — the after-plant, smoke usage and positions — there's RETAKE: fast, repeating situations where you drill retaking the bomb site and coordination.
Streamers grind on CYBERSHOKE too
It's not just pro teams: streamers rack up hours as well. Streamer QUICKHUNTIK, for example, has clocked 1,827 hours on CYBERSHOKE — most of it on movement maps. Streamers tend to lean toward DM and DUELS: fast gameplay that looks good on stream.

It also happens that a dozen pros are on the servers at once — a Vitality coach among them has been spotted. In other words, the modes you open to warm up are the same ones the top players warm up on.
How to build a pro-style practice routine
Putting together a similar routine is easy, and it all lives within one project:
- Aim warm-up — 10–15 minutes on DM or AWP before matches.
- Movement — a couple of maps on KZ, bhop or surf to warm up strafes and mouse control.
- Situations — rounds on RETAKE or 1v1s on DUELS.
- Optional — track your spot on the leaderboard; it's solid motivation.
The easiest place to start is the CYBERSHOKE CS2 modes page — you can see who's online and jump into any mode in a couple of clicks.
FAQ
What modes do pro players train on in CS2?
Most often it's deathmatch (aim warm-up), the movement modes KZ/BHOP/SURF (movement) and duels or retake (situations). On CYBERSHOKE, pros and streamers have shown up across all of them.
How do you train movement like a pro?
Jump onto KZ, BHOP or SURF and drill strafes and timing on maps from easy to hard. Many pros train movement specifically on KZ.
How should you warm up before matches?
10–15 minutes of deathmatch or AWP to warm the hand, then a couple of movement maps. That's roughly how the top players build their warm-up too.
