The SURF pool on CYBERSHOKE grew a lot this summer: 25 new maps landed in late July, and another 10 arrived on 15 August 2026. So whether you've been away from surf for a while or you're just eyeing the mode, there are far more maps for every skill level now.

Want to jump straight in? Here's the direct path to the CYBERSHOKE SURF servers. Below we cover which maps arrived, what surf actually is, how to learn to surf in CS2 from scratch, and how to change the map on the server.

What new SURF maps were added in CS2

According to the CYBERSHOKE updates page, 15 August brought 10 new maps to SURF — among them surf_inrage2, surf_bazz and surf_not_so_quick. And in late July the pool grew by 25 maps at once: surf_quest, surf_runewords and surf_runewords2, surf_unreal, surf_vienna, surf_beyer, surf_cinnamon and more.

The maps span the whole difficulty range — from smooth beginner routes to technical maps with steep ramps and tight transitions. For comparison: when surf first launched in Counter-Strike 2 there were four maps (Utopia, Beginner, Kitsune and Void). The pool now runs into the hundreds.

What is surf in CS2 and why it's worth it

Surf is a movement mode: you glide along angled ramps, build up speed and clear the map barely touching the ground. Control is all mouse and strafes — you tilt your trajectory, hold your speed and move from ramp to ramp. There's no shooting here; it's all about smooth control and timing.

Surf is useful as two things at once: as its own discipline, run for time and style, and as training for the exact mouse control and strafing that carries back into regular Counter-Strike 2.

How to learn to surf in CS2 from scratch

The easiest start is on low-tier beginner maps (Tier 1–2): gentle ramps and wide routes where the job is simply to stay on the ramp and turn the mouse smoothly without sliding off. There are plenty of those among the summer additions, so a first run is friendlier than ever.

From there you climb the tiers: the higher the tier, the steeper the ramps, the tighter the transitions and the more your timing matters. Map won't click? Don't grind it — swap it for an easier one (how, in the next section) and come back later. The CYBERSHOKE surf servers now have maps for every level to spare.

How to change the map on a surf server in CS2

The map is changed by a vote, and any player can start one. The !rtv command (rock the vote) puts a map change to a vote, and !nominate lets you suggest a specific map. These commands work on SURF as well as BHOP and KZ — across all the movement modes.

So if there's a specific new map you want to try, don't wait for the rotation: nominate it with !nominate, and if the vote goes through, you'll land on it next.

A surf server to warm up and train movement in CS2

Surf isn't only a mode of its own. It's also a gentle warm-up: a couple of routes before matches heat up your mouse control and strafes better than idling in a lobby. Plenty of players hit surf just to get a feel for the mouse before combat modes.

On top of that it's pure movement practice: smooth turns, working the acceleration, syncing mouse and trajectory. All of it transfers into the regular game and into other movement modes like bhop. Every mode and server is gathered on the CYBERSHOKE CS2 modes page.

How to play on CYBERSHOKE surf servers

  1. Open the CYBERSHOKE SURF servers page and pick a server by player count and map tier.
  2. Connect and start on a beginner map — stay on the ramp and turn the mouse smoothly, no sharp moves.
  3. Map didn't click? Type !nominate and !rtv to swap it for another.
  4. Comfortable on low tier? Move up to harder maps.
